Ministry Purpose Statement
As the body of Christ, Emmanuel Baptist Church is a congregation of baptized believers who have covenanted themselves together
for one purpose – to do on this earth what Jesus would do if He were physically here. He told His churches what that was in
Matthew 28:18-20. They are to make, mark, and mature disciples. The ministries of the church therefore grow out of that
commission. The programs are not designed to satisfy the worldly desires of the community but rather the needs of the membership
to reach the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ which in turn can meet every need.
Out of this commission to make, mark, and mature disciples comes a four-fold goal for the ministries of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
- Exaltation of God by corporate and private worship;
- Evangelization of the lost, to bring them to saving faith and then to obedience to Christ’s command of baptism;
- Edification of saints and sinners through love and service;
- Education of God’s people through God’s Holy Word to help them conform to the image of Christ and to a deeper relationship with Him.
The following ministries have been established to accomplish these goals:
 Discipleship Dynamics
|
Discipleship Dynamics is a ministry whereby members of the church are equipped to train other members. It is a one year home Bible
study curriculum with 5 levels of orientation for the new follower of Jesus Christ – Christian Orientation, Church Orientation, Bible
Orientation, Doctrinal Orientation, and Leadership Orientation. Every member who joins Emmanuel Baptist Church is given the opportunity
to experience this exciting path to Christian growth through personal discipleship.
|
|
The Sunday School program is a Bible training time for each age. The Adults have two classes. One is a “Through the Bible” series where
the complete Bible is studied in 5 year cycles. The other is a topical quarterly elective where a need is studied in light what the Bible
teaches. The Teens, and Children have curriculum that is age specific for their interest and learning ability. At the heart of each class
is the Bible – what it says and how it applies to our lives.

 Worship Time
|
Emmanuel Baptist Church has two times of worship scheduled each Sunday -10:30 AM and 6:00 PM. The morning worship hour is designed to meet
our need to give praise to our God and to hear from His Word about our life needs. The music consists of traditional songs of the faith
mixed with modern songs that glorify God as the congregation, musicians, and special groups join their hearts in praise. One of the pastors
then encourages both the saved and lost to obey God’s Word.. The evening worship hour is designed to equip the saints to do the work of the
ministry.

|
The congregation meets again in the middle of the week for prayer and Bible study. After a time of prayer, one of the pastors or men of
the church leads the congregation to search for what the Bible says concerning important issues of life.

 Fellowship Dinners
|
The disciple of Jesus Christ is known by love – love for the Lord and others. One of the ways this church seeks to nurture love for one another is
through scheduled fellowship times. After the morning worship service on the first Sunday of each month, the congregation meets for dinner and
fellowship in the spacious multipurpose room. This time is followed by an informal service and no evening service so that time can
also be spent with the family.
|
|
The first Wednesday evening of each month men and women meet in separate informal Bible studies to permit interaction and special focus on the
particular needs of each. Annual retreats are also planned. One retreat for men only. Anther is for women only. As men and women are strengthened
in their respective roles, the home, the church, and our nation becomes stronger.

 Christ Reflections
|
The senior’s group at Emmanuel Baptist Church is called, “Christ Reflections”. It meets once a month for refreshments, fellowship, and Bible
study. Occasional trips are enjoyed by the group to enhance their love for each other and devotion to Christ.

|
The EBC Teen leaders believe that God has always worked with young peopls (Joseph, Samuel, David, Mary, and many others) and we have the following
goals: 1. Evangelism to our teens, and through them, the community's teens. 2. Strengthen our teens relationship with Jesus Christ. 3. Help our
teens discover their personal gifts. 4. Encourage our teens to minister to others by getting involved.

 Children's Ministry
|
Our Jr. Assembly is geared toward 2nd-6th grades with a goal of providing a loving, fun, and exciting environment inwhich to plant the seeds of God's
love in the hearts of Children so that they may know Jesus Christ as their saviour, become like Him, and make Him known to others.
|
|
Our drama team goal is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ through songs, drama, and skits. We have accomplished this through Cantatas, Special Programs, Plays, and Dinner Theatre.

 Nursery Ministry
|
The Goal of Our Nursery is to Providing care, love, and safety to our babies and toddlers while preparing them to meet the Saviour and to learn God’s word.
|
There are a number of ways the church reaches out to the community. The following are a few:
• New Move-in Contact – As people move into the community, a letter is sent from the pastor welcoming them to their new home and inviting them to attend one of our services. This is followed-up with a personal visit and welcoming gift.
• Participating in Community Events – Floats are built for community parades with a Biblical theme and members participate in the parades as the church provides an informational booth at the event.
• General Canvassing – members knock on neighbors’ doors to just let them know we are available to meet any spiritual needs they may have.
• Evangelistic Home Bible Studies – Members offer a six week home Bible study program on “Basic Bible Truths” to neighbors who may have an interest.
• Summer Vacation Bible School - Every year the church provides a fun week for the children of the community to study God’s Word and become acquainted with God’s plan for their lives.

 Worldwide Missions
|
Believing that the church is to go into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel has one family they have sent to Kenya, Africa
(the Tates) and financially cooperate with other independent Baptist Churches to send missionary families into our world to make, mark, and
mature disciples through preaching and teaching and the starting of indigenous churches. (See the Missions page for details). Each year the
church meets for a time for special missions emphasis.
